URI Science and Engineering Fellowship Program [Summer]
Dates: 2022 - 2023
URI's S&E Fellowship Program provides students from underrepresented populations with interdisciplinary experience through a 10-week summer research experience and fall communication course at URI. Students with science and engineering backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply!

RI-INBRE Summer Undergraduate Research (SURF) Program [Summer]

The RI-INBRE Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program provides a 10-week summer research experience for undergraduate students at URI, Brown University, and our partner institutions interested in the biomedical sciences and related fields.

RI EPSCoR Summer Undergraduate Research (SURF) Program [Summer]

The RI NSF EPSCoR Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program offers undergraduates opportunities in real-world research related to developing new approaches to assess, predict and respond to the effects of climate change on coastal ecosystems.
Research Areas: marine biology, engineering, pollutants, microplastics, science communication, chemistry, climate change, computer modeling, sensor development

URI Coastal & Environmental Fellowship Program [Summer]

The Coastal and Environmental Fellowship program provides URI undergraduate students with opportunities to participate in summer research related to environmental and coastal, education, communication or public outreach programs designed to address current environmental and/or societal issues.

The Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Undergraduate Student Training in Academic Research (U*STAR) program is a full-time, two-year research and professional development program for undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds.

URI SURF Oceanography (SURFO) Program [Summer]
Dates: June 5 - August 12, 2023
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships in Oceanography (SURFO) is a 10-week in-residence research experience hosted at URI through the Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO) for STEM majors considering a career or graduate school in Ocean Science and Engineering. It is a NSF REU-Site program and open to students with US citizenship or who have permanent residency status. Students from any State or US Territory may apply.
