Melody Clutter

MELODY EASTER-CLUTTER has taught music to students for the last 38 years. She is now the Educational Director for Opera Iowa with Des Moines Metro Opera and owns her own bakery truck called “The FAT Cookie”. Before retiring from public school teaching, Melody’s was blessed to direct choral music at Johnston Schools where she taught 9th choir and Johnston’s Sound Advice Show choir. Some of her musical career highlights are receiving the Golden Apple Award and Iowa High School Musical Theater Impact Award, directing OPUS Treble Choir Director, publishing music curriculums with Alfred Music Publishing, guest clinician at Iowa Choral Director’s Association conventions, special speaker at NAFME National Convention, music director for Des Moines Performing Arts Musical summer camps, show choir judge but the greatest highlight was being in the classroom with students everyday. She would like to thank the show choir directors who put “WAY” to many hours into directing show choir!
