J-NEXUS:NEXt University-Society open innovation initiative(Approved project by METI Government of Japan to promote industry-academia collaboration)
Industry-academia-government-financial group gather in Kansai Japan. Building up a New Innovation Ecosystem of industry-academia fusion.

“Kansai” means the area consisting of 6 prefectures.
- Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo (Kobe), Nara, Wakayama
Outline of Main Activities
KSII:
・ forms a network of co-creation in Kansai region that transcends prefectural boundaries.
・ supports the commercialization of seeds and the growth of university-originated startups that solve social issues.
・ promotes the matching between the startups originated from university and Enterprise, supports the Proof of Concept and so on by leverage KSII’s network.
Vision for the future
KSII will:
・ realize an industry-academia fusion hub and run a self-sustaining business after the subsidy period end (FY2024).
・ connect the network and functions of the industry-academia fusion hub to the innovation facilities in the “Umekita 2nd project”, and contribute to making Kansai a major center of innovation.
