Associate Professor Wasu Pathom-aree is currently the head of microbiology at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 2005. His research interests are in the areas of diversity of actinobacteria in underexplored environments and their biotechnological applications, plant growth-promoting actinobacteria, climate resilience agriculture, prokaryotic cultivability and selective isolation techniques and microbial-based biorefinery. He is an author and co-author of 163 international publications, 7 patents/petty patents, 6 book chapters and >110 invited lectures at national and international institutions/conferences. He is also an associate editor for Current Microbiology and section editor for All Life, and editor-in-chief of Chiang Mai Journal of Science and Natural & Life Sciences Communications.Ā
