Strays to Saves
A Lifeline for Homeless Animals
We're here to give homeless animals a second chance. By rescuing, healing, and finding them loving families, we turn their stories from struggle to hope. Through education and community efforts, we inspire people to be responsible pet owners and compassionate advocates, making the world a safer place for every animal in need.
A future where no animal has to suffer on the streets where every stray finds love, care, and a place to call home, and where kindness to animals is a way of life.
EVERY PAW DESERVES A HOME AND WARMTH
Every animal deserves love, care, and a safe place to call home. However, countless stray animals struggle daily, facing hunger, disease, and the dangers of life on the streets. The growing population of strays highlights the urgent need for awareness, responsible pet ownership, and sustainable solutions to animal welfare issues.
Providing proper care, medical attention, and shelter for these animals is not just an act of kindness it is a shared responsibility. Stray animals play a role in the community, yet they are often overlooked or mistreated due to misconceptions and lack of awareness. By promoting compassion, education, and responsible adoption, we can work toward a future where every animal is valued, protected, and given the chance to live a healthy and dignified life.
There are nearly 200 million stray dogs worldwide, with an even higher number of stray cats.
According to the 2024 Mars Petcare Pet Homelessness Project report, there are an estimated 3.11 million stray cats and dogs in the Philippines.
Rabies, a preventable viral disease, kills an estimated 59,000 people annually worldwide, mostly in Africa and Asia, with dogs being the primary source of transmission.
The overpopulation of stray animals is a growing global concern. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are nearly 200 million stray dogs worldwide, with an even higher number of stray cats. These massive numbers pose a serious concern for animal welfare, as many strays struggle to find food, water, and shelter. The lack of medical care leads to high mortality rates, especially among puppies and kittens. Additionally, the overpopulation of stray animals increases the risk of public health issues such as rabies and other zoonotic diseases. In some regions, this has led to inhumane culling practices as a misguided attempt to control disease spread (FOUR PAWS, 2024).
According to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), the Philippines faces a challenge in the overpopulation of stray animals, It is estimated that stray dogs have a population of 12 million, while a single female cat is responsible for reproducing a colony of 30 feral cats within a year. These massive numbers of strays could be alarming and pose a significant problem to animal welfare. It raises a serious risk for public health concerns such as rabies and other zoonotic diseases (Zaldarriaga, 2024).
Collaborating with animal shelters, veterinary professionals, and community volunteers, Strays To Saves will rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome homeless animals and educate the public about ethical pet ownership and animal welfare. Moreover, through vaccination drives, adoption events, and rescue missions, we ensure that the number of stray animals is reduced and that they are given the life they deserve.
