Ash Wednesday worship service

February 26 at 6:00pm

Worship and Anointing with Oil or Ashes

We begin the season of Lent with ashes and dust — realizing the limits of human life, and our need for each other and for God’s grace because we cannot do or be or manage everything. We will offer a worship service and a chance for reflection at 6:00pm in the sanctuary.

Whether you come for anointing or ashes, or reflect privately at home, we invite you to prayerfully remember the grief and the promise of “ashes to ashes, dust to dust. All of us go down to the dust, yet even at the grave we make our song…”

Annual Congregational Meeting

Sunday, February 16, after worship

The “financial part” of our annual congregational meeting will be held immediately after the worship service on Sunday, February 16, to undertake business proper to the financial well-being of the congregation. We will review the financial picture of 2019, seek to understand the budget for 2020, and establish the pastors’ terms of call for 2020.

The other business proper to the annual congregational meeting, including program reports and election of ruling elders, will be conducted at our June meeting.

Please plan to stay as we continue to plan for our future together!

Going Green

As part of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and be wise stewards of our financial resources, we’ve decided to reduce our mailing list for the printed newsletter.

Please contact the church office if you wish to continue receiving the printed newsletter. We can continue mailing it to you if you prefer, or you can pick up a printed copy at church.

If we have your email address, then you have already been receiving the electronic newsletter and you will continue to receive it. If you haven’t been getting the electronic version and would like to receive future issues, please contact the office and provide us with your email address. Also, make sure to add office@upcbgm.org to your Contacts to make sure your email system doesn’t hide us as Junk mail.

Our mission is to follow Jesus Christ by doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with God.
