MMS 173 Assignment 1: KNOWING WHERE I'M AT (PART 1)
My worst Nightmare, a damaged Hard Drive. My 2nd storage device where I unfortunately kept all our memories, pictures and videos. Phone is dead as well, so I had to have it fixed and may take a month to get it back. It made me want to cry, took me some time to think about what I should do, where I should go and when. Luckily a pop-up message appeared, saying I have memories that I might want to view, thanks to google assitant, it created a backup of the pictures I took from my mobile phone. Hah! What a relief. So here are the 5 photos that I wanted to share with you, 3 of which were taken using my mobile device and 2 from the DSLR.
When The Sun Sets
Took this photo using my mobile phone, I was experimenting with the features of the camera. This was the most challenging as I can't look at it directly as the sun is too bright for the naked eye. Im pretty happy about it though, as I was able to take the picture the way I wanted it.

UAE NATIONAL DAY
I witnessed how my daughter's school celebrated UAE National Day. I took this photo just in time when they released the balloons of colors. Where each color represents the color of the UAE flag that signifies the values and unity of the Emirates. Red symbolizes the sacrifices of the previous generations and in remembrance of the martyrs, Green symbolizes growth, prosperity and fertility, White displays the nation's charitable contributions and the state's approach to support the security and peace in the world, and Black represents the strength of Emirati citizens.
A WALK IN THE CLOUDS
It was 8 o'clock in the morning and the weather in Abu Dhabi has shifted from Summer to Winter. I live off the island and on a high floor, some say we had the best view, and oh, yes we do! We can see the whole city being blanketed by thick fog. The feeling is so overwhelming, it's so beautiful that it felt like a walk in the clouds, while at the same time scary, that as if something not ordinary is hidden underneath.

Lights On
Took this photo when we went to visit IKEA. Strolling and window shopping is my way of distressing myself. No need to buy stuff, I just like seeing beautiful things that I can imagine as my own. I took the chance to take this photo so I can use it in the future. This is also the kind of light fixtures that I want for my garden, if ever I'm going to have one. And I liked how it ended up as one of my best shots, just like the first picture above, this one is also difficult to shoot as the light is too bright, that I couldn't see anything for about 20 seconds after taking this picture.
Road Trip
My hard disk was damaged with all my stored pictures and memories in it, so this last picture was the hardest as I dont have the luxury of time to stroll around and take pictures. Luckily, my cousin was asked to report for work today and I took this chance to take a photo of just about anything. So while on the road I was looking for something that is photo worthy, but it's hard to find anything on a highway. So I took this shot while the coast is clear, with the thrill of getting caught just incase another car would overtake ours and accidentally take a photo with their car in it. Since here in UAE, whenever you take a photo with their cars being a part of it (without asking permission) especially if the plate numbers are visible you will be charged for invading their privacy, you will be fined and sent to prison. That is if they see you doing so and or you post it online.
