I met a bunch of my classmates since the BAMS group chat was made. We had several interactions before the first-semester enrollment happened. It is a good start since most of us relate to topics and the chat was very active every night. I belonged to the keyboard warriors (as they called them) who seemingly actively communicated through texts or messages. We had created quite a bond and communication that helped each student with their needs. As one of the active students in the group chat, I enjoyed the cooperation of my classmates, especially the DP frame that I started. The activity somehow reached some of the students who were not in the group yet to the point that we almost did this DP frame thing every week. The interactions stopped at the midterms when everyone was busy doing their activities, and then continues again after the final's week. One thing that made everyone feel connected is sharing their life experiences that vary in different topics, which include the reasons why we are in this institution, our high school highlights, hobbies and skills, personalities, and more topics that made us know about each other. Therefore, this open forum became a way for the students to express themselves and meet everyone.
There are people who I can say became my mutuals during the first semester. They are nice students who joined several organizations at the university. I happen to be in this group because I created the first batch frame, one person created the caption, and the rest of them shared the word. I am not much active as them (most of them are extroverts) and if I have the time, I probably also joined them on the organizations. There is also this one mutual who came from the same high school and municipality. We somehow became partners on most of our subjects since we are the only ones who mostly relate. One among these people also commissioned me to create a digital painting of him and his girlfriend last Christmas, which I purely appreciate as I receive both income and appreciation. This one person also became one of my mutuals as we help each other with a few tasks, and she is also my group mate on the CWTS project. There are five other people who I relate to from arts, music genre, school experiences, and personal outlooks where our conversations always end with valuable lessons.
Evaluating other students under FIC Al, the conversations are casual and helpful at the same time. They actively reply to the questions often asked and do not spam the messages so the other students can see them. It is also fun to listen and join the zoom meeting where everyone on the call understood the lessons. Some interact and some do not for several other reasons. The symbol sharing is also quite fun as I learned a piece of information about these students and their aspirations being on this course. Some, however, do not have the sense of time to introduce themselves which took the actual meeting late. Additionally, those students who didn’t understand basic instructions were clearly applied to the task made me wonder if they ever finished reading the whole text or not. The students who raise their voices are helpful for the understanding of the rest of the students, giving the example at the midnight zoom meeting that most of the students misunderstood in my feeling. Also, active people typically do their best to answer all the questions they can answer.
On the ePortfolio, I will specify the people who I evaluated, and if their self-assessment is aligned with my feelings of them. The people somehow, I interacted with the same peers at Visual Arts are merely correct to their own self-description, they also some of the people active at the MMS 100 group chat namely Cy (Cyrene Joy Sancon), Thursday (Naomi Thursday Reyes), Don (Don Jaime Custodio), Dwight (Dwight Anton Faraon), Unicharmed (Unicharmed Duran), and Sean (Seab Michael Alehandria). I respect these people being the visual artists of my batch and their creativity in their portfolios. Moving on to Performing and literary artists, Elvin (Elvin Marco Loja), Jose (Jose Antonio Basco), Genmar (Genmar Carasaquit), Dawson (Dawson Bastie Quiambao) and Ian (Mhark Ian Corpuz). These people, like most performers, are extroverts and interact with many students. I learned about their story in the group chat that reflects their own personal information that was also shared in their portfolio. Their stories are relatable, some are heartwarming and eye catching. This shows how different our paths in life are and this university added to our journey.
Their reflections are relatable too as we all faced several conflicts before stepping into UPOU. Most of them are dedicated to continuing BAMS as their way to their aspirations in life. It is sad to hear that they were just here because they had no choice, or this is the final choice being in this institution. Somehow, these people managed to carry out the first semester where we all experienced the ups and downs on this journey. Most of them realized that being on this course is beneficial and somehow helped them realize their potential in Multimedia. I am happy to see that they are satisfied with all the interaction with us students and wish for something more that will connect us all.
