Workshop
Applying Chemical Organization Theory to Sustainability Challenges
Description
This workshop explores the application of Chemical Organization Theory (COT) to model and analyze complex sustainability challenges. COT provides a mathematical framework for identifying stable substructures (organizations) within dynamic systems, offering insights into self-sustaining behaviors across ecological, economic, and social contexts. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on sessions, and collaborative group activities, participants will gain a deep understanding of the theory and its practical applications to the modeling of sustainability, resilience, adaptation, and related concepts. Moreover, collaborative projects will be invited to be showcased in video to be presented in a follow-up workshop at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium.
