About Us: The Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) is a 20-year old non-profit organization which produces and broadcasts digital learning materials on television and online for K to 12. To improve the quality of basic public education, it provides public schools with educational TV infrastructure with donations it solicits from the public and private sectors.
Internship Description/Job Summary: The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Marketing Department with a variety of social media, graphic design, events and marketing initiatives. Interns in this department may be students in multimedia arts, graphic design, development communications, mass communications, marketing, advertising, or journalism.
Specific Projects for Execution by Intern: Marketing Interns are expected to work with excellence and magis in order to achieve the intended outputs. These outputs vary depending on the area of work where the intern is assigned to. Marketing interns are assigned to three roles:
- Marketing, research, and communications (marketing, mass comm, journalism, dev comm students)
- Graphic design (MMA, design students)
- Social media and events (marketing, mass comm students).
Marketing interns will be working on ongoing social media executions, internal and external communications, presentations, writing projects like news and in-depth articles, marketing research, event planning and execution, video editing, and digital design among other tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and creation of social media posts / gimmicks
- Social media monitoring
- Marketing campaign planning and research
- Article writing and editing
- Photography and video editing
- Graphic design
- Event organizing and public relations
- Marketing coordination
Job Requirements:
Candidates should be:
- seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Development or Mass Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Advertising or Business Administration
- Highly proficient in English and Filipino both oral and written
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Skilled in using basic computer applications and software
- Highly skilled in graphic design and/or video software (for MMA students)
- Inquisitive, a good listener, and with excellent command of grammar (for Journalism or Communication students)
- Highly organized and can work independently on projects with minimal supervision
- A hard-worker and with a strong desire to work in the education sector
- Very passionate about education, learning, helping children
- Tech-savvy, friendly, and with pleasing personality and attitude

2. Research Assistant for BasaBilang Project (2)

To improve the quality of basic public education, it provides public schools with educational TV infrastructure with donations it solicits from the public and private sectors.
Internship Description/Job Summary: The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting the BasaBilang Project, an initiative to enhance beginning reading and early numeracy of Grade 1-3 students, with its research activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in gathering and encoding of data, test administration, student interviews, etc.;
- Organize office physical and digital files;
- Prepare liquidation reports of event expenses; and
- Monitor project research respondents by phone, emails and school visitations.
Job Requirements:
Candidates should:
- be seeking a bachelor’s degree in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Education, Research, Office Management/ Administration, or Psychology;
- have above average written and verbal communication skills;
- have strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Apps, E-mail, etc.;
- be patient in dealing with students in the grade school level; and,
- be willing to join fieldwork and on-the-ground activities (data collection, project monitoring, etc.)

3. Research Assistant/Teacher Training Intern for PRIME (2)

To improve the quality of basic public education, it provides public schools with educational TV infrastructure with donations it solicits from the public and private sectors.
Internship Description/Job Summary: The Teacher Training Intern should (1) be interested in understanding how teachers learn better exhibited through a commitment to teacher research which may involve both quantitative and qualitative data; and (2) be proactive in assisting the main members of the Knowledge Channel Team in conducting said training activities.
They should possess strong and flexible verbal and oral communication skills, organizational skills, punctuality, and perseverance to learn from mistakes. In return, the intern would be mentored on how to conduct research in education and skills that would be relevant to project management.
Specific Projects for Execution by intern:
The internship will involve off-site teacher training sessions in nearby provinces, creation of minutes, and logistical support during teacher training sessions, communication with school teachers and school heads, and producing write-ups related to the teacher training activities of the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Communicating with teachers
- Gathering data relevant to teacher education and learning
- Organizing venues and events
- Producing write-ups (i.e. minutes, executive summaries, reports)
Job Requirements:
- Literate in applications for document creation (e.g. Google docs, Google sheets, Microsoft Word)
- Has strong critical thinking skills and an understanding to the situation of the public-school system in the country
- Has strong communication skills, both in Filipino and in English (knowledge in another regional language is commendable)
- Has initiative, attention to detail, collaboration skills and with exceptional interpersonal skills

4. Resource Mobilization and Fundraising Internship (2)

Internship Description/Job Summary: The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Resource Mobilization Department in fund raising initiatives and looking for partnerships.
Specific Projects for Execution by intern:
- Gift of Knowledge (ACCESS) and LEEP Training fund raising activities
- New AVP and Presentation Materials
- Writing, sending and following up proposals
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and background check of prospective clients or partners
- Prepare proposals to prospects and make a follow up
- Submit a database or list of all prospects that have been sent out with proposal, and its status or updates.
- Has the ability to compose presentations (PPT) and AVP
Job Requirements:
- AB Mass Communication major in Journalism, Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Administration
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Very articulate and patient in doing follow up calls

5. TV Production (Scriptwriting and/or Video Editing) Internship (4; 2 per role)

To improve the quality of basic public education, it provides public schools with educational TV infrastructure with donations it solicits from the public and private sectors.
Internship Description/Job Summary: The Masscom and Broadcomm Intern should be equipped with knowledge and skills in writing, research design and production. They should be able prepare research materials or content guides provided to writers and developers.
Specific Projects for Execution by intern: The internship will involve writing of scripts for Filipino and English for Grade 1 and Grade 1 Math for the production of video episodes on Beginning Reading (Filipino and English) and Math to be aired on Knowledge Channel’s broadcast and online platforms. The TV Production interns are assigned to 2 roles:
1. Scriptwriting
2. Video Editing

Job Requirements:
- Broadcast Communication or Mass Communication Student
- Proficient in Filipino and English- both verbal and written form
- Ability to express ideas creatively, translate concepts into visual material
- Review sequence treatment and scripts and other content for television and online materials and makes sure it is ready in terms of appropriateness and accuracy of content.
- Write scripts and storyboards before production and/or development in terms of appropriateness and accuracy of content
- Has background in performing arts and exposed to production activities such as acting, directing, or production design
- Has initiative, detail oriented, collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills
