The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) is mandated to integrate programs, policies, and activities towards the protection, promotion, and successful deployment of the University's technologies through licensing and technology business incubation to both the private and public sectors and stakeholders, as well as assisting in the implementation of laws and policies governing intellectual property rights and technology transfer. Our mission is to boost an innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem, contributing to the dynamic development of society.

Minimum Qualifications

The intern position at the UPLB TTBDO will entail the development of promotional materials for the office’s activities and events. The following are the minimum qualifications for the position:

1. 1. 1. Must be an undergraduate student of UPLB CDC, with an interest in learning about technology transfer and business development;

      2. Have experience in website management (preferably WordPress) and social media management;

      3. Knowledgeable and skilled in graphic design, especially in photo and video editing platforms;

      4. Must be able to conduct basic research and be skilled in Google Workspace; and

      5. Must be able to participate onsite and remotely in program activities.

Outputs, Tasks, and Responsibilities

The interns will be assigned to the Business Development and Promotions Unit (BDP) of the UPLB TTBDO. The BDP facilitates technology marketing and promotions through technology features, development and management of social media channels, and endorsement of technologies to partner institutions to reach potential clients and adopters.

With this, the interns are expected to diligently carry out the following outputs, tasks, and responsibilities, detailed further in the attached internship program:

1. Prepare publicity materials for FunFact Friday and/or Tech Tuesdays;

2. Ideate other potential weekly promotional material for UPLB TTBDO and/or UPLB SIBOL Business Incubator (SBI);

3. Create a 1.5-minute video for each topic related to intellectual property, technology commercialization, and business incubation;

4. Create a 1.5-minute video about UPLB TTBDO;

5. Host 2 webinars/events during the internship duration;

6. Design the digital catalog of UPLB technologies on the UPLB TTBDO website;

7. Write 2 articles for the 2 webinars/events during the internship duration; and

8. Participate in office learning and development activities (if any).

Application Process and Schedule

Devcom students who are interested in applying for an internship in our office may submit their letter of intent addressed to UPLB TTBDO Director, curriculum vitae, and portfolio of outputs/designs. An online interview shall be scheduled then, and onboarding shall follow.
