UPLB CAFS Division of Agricultural Extension and Rural Studies (DAERS) looks into the dynamics of the various stakeholders of the agricultural and rural sector. It focuses on the concerns of rural communities and the concerted efforts of various agencies and institutions to improve their quality of life. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in agricultural extension and rural sociology.
The Division is in the process of improving the visibility and accessibility of its academic programs and activities by strengthening how we communicate these to wider audiences. We see this internship as an opportunity for your students to contribute creatively while gaining hands-on experience in development communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in improving the MS Rural Sociology social media page
Produce short, engaging micro-learning videos that translate key concepts in agricultural extension and rural sociology into accessible format
Contribute ideas on how to better communicate rural realities and agricultural extension to broader audiences
Develop other information, education, and communication (IEC) and collateral materials
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Excellent written communication and creative skills
Knowledgeable and skilled in popular writing and communication-related tasks (e.g., video editing, graphic design, etc.)
Able to work independently while contributing to a team
Curious about rural development, agriculture, and social issues
Willing to learn and experiment with new formats and ideas
