UPSCALE Innovation Hub is the pioneer incubator of the University of the Philippines-Diliman. The hub incubates and accelerates technology based ventures and engages with various networks of industries through collaborative academic research and design projects. In addition, we aim to be the leader in nurturing local innovations to be globally competitive by bridging the gap between the academe and industry, through capacity building programs and collaborations.

UPSCALE has two flagship programs: ENTERPRISE and IGNITE. ENTERPRISE houses an incubation program for tech-based startups and provides learning sessions, mentorship, grant proposal writing assistance, and access to the hub’s local and international network of investors. Meanwhile, IGNITE promotes industry-academe collaboration by providing innovation management services such as capability and technology matching, design thinking, customer discovery, proposal writing assistance, and monitoring of project implementation.

Tasks

1. 1. 1. Assist in the implementation of UPSCALE’s program such as communicating with startups, industry partners, university researchers, senior partners, and other stakeholders, grant proposal writing, customer discovery, and others;

      2. Assist in writing and producing promotional and publicity materials for the programs (e.g., email campaigns, letters, and social media content);

      3. Assist in planning and hosting events;

      4. Assist in the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns for the

      5. programs including digital advertising and social media buzz campaigns;

      6. Assist in managing social communities (channels) like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram

      7. by leveraging knowledge of UPSCALE’s social architecture, target audience, and

      8. specific social media channel strategies and best practices; and

      9. Provide assistance to other UPSCALE members as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

1. This is a remote position, candidates must have their own equipment needed to accomplish work tasks (e.g., laptop and stable internet connection)

2. Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office applications plus web design and/or social media channels

3. Good organizational and communication skills

4. Excellent English and Filipino writing skills

5. Strong ability to collaborate

6. Highly driven and resourceful
