IRRI Education is the educational arm of IRRI. We aim to empower and impact all stakeholders in the rice-based agri-food sector through partnerships with NARES partners, universities, GIAR centers, organizations, and other relevant stakeholders by offering diverse training and global learning experiences. As part of this mission, we are developing high-quality learning solutions, including microlearning, blended learning, online short courses, and MOOCs.
Number of intern/s requested
Two interns who are willing to report on-site in IRRI Education, Product Development Unit
Mode of internship
Blended (in-person/on-site and online/virtual)
Tasks and Responsibilities of Interns
Review existing materials (i.e. powerpoint, video recordings, and journals) on IRRI Education's short courses
Create content for self-paced digital modules
Write assessments that align with course learning outcomes and module objectives Support team in design and development of modules into our authoring tools Support team in reviewing existing micromodules and online courses
Attend team meetings and department trainings (as needed)
Qualifications for internship applicants
Background in planning, designing, and developing online learning content Knowledge in instructional design (ID) models
Knowledge in distance learning or media-based learning systems Knowledge in course development
Strong writing and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with learning management systems, and design softwares (preferred)
