Science Communication/Engagement Internship - Mind Mover Apprentice

Bonifacio Art Foundation Inc. (BAFI) is a non-profit organization that champions the arts and the sciences in elevating community and national life. Our projects include The Mind Museum, BGC Arts Center, Arts at BGC, and Mind S-Cool.

BAFI is dedicated to supporting the professional development of students and volunteers through an internship program. We provide students and volunteers the opportunity to gain experience at one of the leading art and science organizations in the Philippines and in Asia and the chance to work on professional science communication and art education projects like Mind S-Cool TV and Online (mindscoolph.org), and Arts at BGC (artsatbgc.org).

All internship placements are subject to government restrictions. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Passion for the sciences, arts and humanities, and basic education

2. Competence in scientific thinking and strong knowledge of scientific literature; students who have taken courses in physical and natural sciences (e.g. physics, earth science, astronomy, and biology/ecology) have an advantage

3. Interest in art and multi/interdisciplinary studies

4. Strong writing and speaking skills (English and Philippine Languages)

5. Ability to collaborate and work in a team

6. High initiative, creativity, and willingness to learn

7. Basic skills in using creative softwares like Canva; Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects is a plus

Internship Role and Responsibilities

1. Conduct desktop research on various science and art topics;

2. Design informal educational activities for K-12 students;

3. Assist in laboratory management;

4. Perform on-site science shows and interact with museum guests (if possible)

5. Develop communication materials for various audiences and platforms; and

6. Develop a science and art communication/education campaign/project
