UPLB Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE)

Tasks and Responsibilities

1. 1. 1. Write news and feature articles related to UPLB R&E programs and activities to be published in the RDE Digest and OVCRE website.

      2. Cover and document events of OVCRE and its supervised units.

      3. Assist in proofreading articles.

      4. Pitch ideas for stories and conduct research and online interviews when necessary.

      5. Assist in producing IEC materials, such as infographs, art cards, posters, and videos, about UPLB technologies and R&E projects, for posting on OVCRE social media pages.

      6. Assist in planning, attend meetings, and brainstorm ideas for Tuklas UPLB.

      7. Prepare and present a communication plan for the OVCRE Knowledge Management

      8. Section for further promotion of UPLB research and extension culture. Include plans for campaigns, promotions, social media, and print.

Requirements/qualifications for internship applicants

• Has a good command of the written English language

• Ability to write articles out of research projects or scientific articles that are appropriate for the general audience

• Familiarity with the basic rules in news and feature writing and the basic principles in design composition and layout

• Knows how to gather and fact-check pertinent data for articles and IEC materials

• Can deliver expected outputs within the given time frame
