Overview
Oscar M. Lopez Center is a science-based organization borne out of a private sector initiative to support research and harness science that produces actionable knowledge to help build climate-resilient communities.
Supporting the Center’s mission, its Communications Unit develops and implements communication strategies and processes to ensure the knowledge assets and key messages are accessible, relevant, and appealing to identified target publics. It works in partnership with the other units in developing and implementing content, programs and channels, and ensuring consistency and effectiveness. Despite the challenges of a work from home setup, the Center continues to reach its target audiences by producing engaging content.
For its 2021 internship program, the Center will need a CONTENT DEVELOPMENT INTERN who will assist in this endeavor.
Scope of Work
The following are the duties and responsibilities of the CONTENT DEVELOPMENT INTERN:
Assist in the communication efforts of the Center to engage its target publics
Contributes to the development of content for public release for the Center’s website and online channels
Develops derivative materials for official online channels
Assists in the review of various copies to ensure content is on brand and consistent in terms of style
Assists in developing content ideas, in line with the Center’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives
Assist in ensuring content optimization
Assists in tracking website content
Conducts a review of keywords and tags
Conducts research activities to enhance the Center’s content
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Junior or senior college student in a relevant communication course
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational and documentation skills
Can work efficiently without close supervision

OMLC Design Development [1]
Overview
The Oscar M. Lopez Center is a science-based organization borne out of a private sector initiative to support research and harness science that produces actionable knowledge to help build climate-resilient communities.
The Center’s Communications Unit works on streamlining and standardizing the visualization and communication of various weather, climate and disaster data.
For the 2021 internship program, the Center’s Communications Unit will need a DESIGN INTERN to assist in the design and visualization of these data and concepts.
Scope of Work
The following are the duties and responsibilities of the DESIGN INTERN:
Submit 2-3 concept proposals for the general design (look and feel) of the assigned project.
Once concept is approved, implement and execute design work, specifically:
Develop the necessary design and graphic necessary
Ensure consistency while conforming with the OML Center’s Brand Manual
Develop colored and black and white versions, as necessary
Ensure that colors used are Color Vision Deficiency-friendly
Produce vector files for approved proposals
Turnover of master files in InDesign and all linked assets and layered files created using Illustrator or Photoshop.
Coordinate with project team and attend virtual meetings as necessary
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Junior or senior college student in a relevant communication, multimedia, or design course
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational and documentation skills
Can work efficiently without close supervision
Can work under strict deadlines and timelines
Experience in developing content and materials for business audiences an advantage

OMLC Learning Program [1]
Overview
The Oscar M. Lopez Center is a science-based organization borne out of a private sector initiative to support research and harness science that produces actionable knowledge to help build climate-resilient communities.
Using its available knowledge products, the Center develops educational learning programs on climate change issues, risks and impacts in the Philippine context.
For this undertaking, the Center will need a PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT INTERN to assist in conceptualizing and developing an educational online learning program anchored on our knowledge products.
Scope of Work
The following are the duties and responsibilities of the PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT INTERN:
Review the program direction and develop a concept note for an educational online learning program
Once concept note is approved, co-lead the pre-event preparations, including scheduling, resource mobilization, and materials development.
Conduct at least one run of the approved program under the supervision of the project team
Assist in compiling post-event documentation
Coordinate with project team and attend virtual meetings as necessary
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Junior or senior college student in a relevant communication, education, or business management course
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational and documentation skills

OMLC Research Development [3-5]
Overview
The Oscar M. Lopez Center is a science-based organization borne out of a private sector initiative to support research and harness science that produces actionable knowledge to help build climate-resilient communities.
The Center has been conducting research on climate change awareness and perceptions that have been valuable in building up the knowledge available and has provided insights in the development of the Center’s programs.
For its 2021 internship program, the Center’s Communications Unit will need 3-5 INTERNS who will work in teams to review and assess research programs, conduct supplementary desk research, analyze and synthesize the findings, and develop recommendations for improvements.
Scope of Work
The following are the duties and responsibilities of the RESEARCH INTERNS:
Assist the project team in reviewing and refining the survey instrument and process, including:
Conduct desk research on available local and international information, studies and other literature on specific research topics
Review current research instrument and its construction/design
Synthesize and analyze research results and related literature
Submit findings and recommendations
If applicable, present the findings and recommendations
Once approved, conduct beta testing of the research results, including:
Conduct online testing
Finalize beta version
Develop and submit proposal for deployment of the online survey
Coordinate with project team and attend virtual meetings as necessary
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Junior or senior college student in a communication, communication research, data science, marketing, or related degree
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Has good organizational and documentation skills
Can work efficiently without close supervision
Can work under strict deadlines and timelines
