Communications Intern (1)
Background
FEF employs various information, education, and communication (IEC) campaigns concerning its proposed reforms on property rights, tree plantation policies, among others. Despite the pandemic, FEF manages to organize information campaigns, forums, webinars, and educational programs for its stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Communications Intern will assist the Communications Officer in the following:
Develop/implement a digital strategy to disseminate information (event stories, press kits, short videos) about FEF’s projects in various social media channels and website;
Assist FEF in preparing materials and kits for participants/stakeholders from the public and private sectors, policymakers, media, academe, and others;
Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support for FEF in terms of planning and organizing of meetings, fora, workshops, or focus group discussions; and
Produce online television and/or podcast programs for FEF’s projects.
Requirements
Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web literate (including familiarity with online project collaboration tools and social media platforms);
Must possess basic/intermediate skills in using various editing software (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, etc.);
Has stable internet connection and laptop; and
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, diligent, and can work with minimal supervision.
[Economic Freedom Audit (EFA)] Research Intern (1)
Background:
The Philippines ranks 54th out of 162 countries in the Economic Freedom of the World: 2020 Annual Report. The country is above the overall Southeast Asian economic freedom index. However, it lags on the areas of legal system and property rights business regulations. The Economic Freedom Index provides the most comprehensive economic policy description of a nation available, and the information also creates a prescription for reform — showing where a country is weak and strong, how its regional competitors are doing, and where best practices can be found.
FEF shall be undertaking an Economic Freedom Audit (EFA), with the support of Atlas Network and the Fraser Institute, to go into an in-depth discussion of the country’s issues (areas of concern where it lags behind) and identify and recommend policy reforms that can improve the nation’s overall economic freedom.
Responsibilities
The Research Intern will assist the Program Assistant in the following:
Undertake literature review and assessment of the Economic Freedom Index performance of the Philippines and come up with baseline data on areas of concern;
Conduct research and writing to produce an Economic Freedom Audit booklet (Philippine situation);
Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support for FEF in terms of planning and organizing of meetings, fora, workshops, or focus group discussions; and
Assist FEF in preparing materials and kits for participants/stakeholders from the public and private sectors, policymakers, media, academe, and others.

[FEF Land Team] Research Intern (1)
Background
FEF is currently undertaking research and policy development to pursue reforms in the agriculture and forestry sectors. The reform in agriculture seeks to improve agricultural productivity for food security, while the forestry reform encourages investments through tree plantation development to increase the country’s wood resource base, improve the contribution of forestry to the Philippine economy, and mitigate the ill-effects of climate change.
Responsibilities
The Research Intern will assist the FEF Land Team in the following:
Undertake literature review and research on agriculture and forestry;
Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support for FEF in terms of planning and organizing of meetings, fora, workshops, or focus group discussions; and
Assist FEF in preparing materials and kits for FGDs, workshops, and fora; and
Assist in the documentation of various activities of the FEF Land Team.
Requirements
Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web literate (including familiarity with online project collaboration tools and social media platforms);
Has basic understanding of research methodologies in the social sciences, such as qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis;
