Tasks/responsibilities/outputs expected from the intern:
Assist in the Division in its branding and creative marketing, social listening, and risk communication functions, and in implementing strategies for health promotion, education, and communication.
Assist in the strategic development of branding and marketing plans for health promotion and communication campaigns.
Develop content and package messages for COVID-19 response, health promotion campaigns, and other communications of the Department.
Assist in overseeing the creative marketing aspect of health campaigns as assigned.
Produce illustrations, diagrams, icons, and graphic elements aligned with the visual identity of DOH’s campaigns.
Layout reports, info sheets, and other publication materials.
Assist in the design and production of templates for brochures, event materials, info sheets, presentations, and situation reports, and convert them for compatibility with other publishing softwares.
Assist in the development of branding and design manual for requested campaigns and projects.
Perform such other functions assigned by the internship coordinator.
Deliverables/expected outputs:
Illustrations and/or graphics and/or short animated videos
Communication packages (containing rendered communication materials, including social media cards, banners, brochures, etc) and templates for various health campaigns
Social listening reports
Design manuals and creative pitches for various health campaigns
A repository of soft copies and editable formats of all communication materials produced
Requirements/qualifications for internship applicants:
Excellent planning, writing, and editing skills
Skills and knowledge in visual content creation for both traditional and emerging media
Overall good design instincts with excellent photo and video editing, illustration, and layout skills
Work flexibility
Ability to balance multiple work streams
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Adept at using various work tools and applications such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.
Application process schedule:
June 17: Submission of applications from CDC
June 22: Release of shortlist from DOH
June 23-25: Interview with the DOH, including release of instructions for a short practical exam
June 28: Deadline of practical exam submissions
June 29: Release of final results of the selection process
June 30: Deadline of confirmation for the internship
July 5: Orientation and beginning of internship
