ABOUT ALPAS

As a culmination of their years of education spent in the College of Fine Arts, Batch 2021 of the Visual Communication Program presents Alpas: Ang Pagsilakbo ng Sining sa Panahon ng Pandemya.

Alpas is a Filipino word that means to break forth into flight. The exhibit's theme represents the way in which the students of this batch have used their outpouring of passion into their creative projects. In this way, art breaks past the extraordinary and disheartening constraints brought about by the global pandemic. The showcase of works has been categorized into the following clusters: Illustration, Publication, and Graphic Design, Moving Images, Campaigns, and Interactive Media.

ABOUT THE VISUAL COMMUNICATION PROGRAM

As problem-solvers, we encourage students to develop independent creative thinking. Visual communication majors must be able to communicate visually as well as verbally, by becoming fluent–not only in the language of visual design which consists of typography, illustration and layout–but also in utilizing the various visual design formats in effectively reaching a target audience.
