To report on the Status of Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA) Loan for Creation of Assets

The University has been sanctioned two loan amounts of viz., Rs. 127.33 cr. (Window-III – through HEFA) and Rs. 33.90 cr. (Window-IV - under EWS by MoE) for carrying out various construction activities.

The Ministry of Finance (Dept. of Expenditure) at its meeting held on 21.5.2020 assessed the status of HEFA loan sanctioned and disbursed under various windows and inter-alia decided that

(i) Windows I, II & III may continue without any change.

(ii) No further projects approvals will be given under HEFA – Windows IV and V beyond those already approved.

(iii) All future projects which were intended to be funded under Window IV and V of HEFA shall hereafter follow normal appraisal and approval procedures of Government projects.

(iv) As regards the projects already approved under HEFA – Window IV and V, funding will be provided from the Budget, as needed. No further borrowing shall be undertaken by HEFA in respect of these projects.
