MILKING

Jacqueline Garcia, Milking, 2021. Digital illustration, 3500 x 2500 pixels.

Milking is a part of my Milk series that I worked on this past Spring 2021 semester. I created Milk to speak on the exploitation and sexualization of women all while using my Ajolote character that I created a little over three years ago. With Milking, I portray the “milking” of women in a cute, easy to “consume” manner. Around 50 thumbnail sketches were created before I began working on my final draft for Milking. My sketches often include a lot of text as it helps me verbalize what I want my piece to do. As a traditional artist that only began delving into digital art this past year, I approached this piece like I would a painting; that means layers upon layers. I stuck with the paintbrush tool, airbrush tool and the colorless smudge tool as they best mimicked my traditional brushes.
