Four students of the Faculty of Agriculture have been appointed to Captain and Vice-Captain positions in the University of Jaffna sports and games teams - 2026

Mr. V. Kerishanthan (2022/AG/092 – 34th Batch) represented the Mannar District Carrom Team and achieved the following accomplishments at the Provincial Table Tennis Championship held on 13 June 2026:

Champion – Men's Doubles
Runner-up – Team Event
Contributed to Mannar District becoming the Overall Provincial Champion
Qualified to represent the province at the National Championship

Thirteen students from the Faculty of Agriculture represented the University in the 2025 Inter-University Games.

Mr. V. Nirushakanth (2021/AG/077) from the 33rd batch was a member of the University Road Race Team, which won the Championship at the Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) 2025, held from 30th September to 1st October, 2025.

The University of Jaffna won Championship in the Interuniversity Road ra Championship 2025 (Held from 3oth September - 1st October 2025).

Basketball 2nd Runner-up - UOJ Men's Team

Mr. J. Kosharan (2022/AG/020) and Mr. S. Luxshan (2022/AG/155) from the 34th batch were members of the University Basketball Team, which won the 2nd Runner-up at the Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) 2025, held from 7th to 12th September, 2025.

Mr. H. K. U. Lankanath (2023/AG/099) from the 35th batch was a member of the University Swimming Team. At the Inter-University Games (SLUG) 2025, the University of Jaffna team won 3rd place in the 4×100 m relay (Swimming) event held on 16.09.2025.

Mr. V. Kerishanthan (2022/AG/092 - 34th batch) was awarded the prestigious Sri Lanka University Colours by SLUSA on 30th May 2025 for his outstanding performance at the 2024 Inter-University Games.

Mr. V. Kerishanthan (34th Batch) from the faculty of Agriculture is a promising team player who excelled in the inter-university carrom match. He won the tough match and was the reason for this victory.

The University of Jaffna won second runner-up in the Interuniversity Carrom Championship 2024 (Held from 28 - 29 September 2024). This is the first time in UOJ carrom history.

Agriculture Premium League 2024

Faculty of Agriculture men’s cricket team won 2nd runner-up in the Agri Premier League 2024 (APL 2024) organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, held on the 4th and 5th of May 2024. Eight Universities took part in the tournament. Our faculty team tied the semifinal match with the Faculty of Peradeniya and won the match in the super over.

Mr. Tharindu Arambegedara (32nd Batch, FOA), received the Best Bowler award in APL 2024.
