2. How can I access the libraries?
Library access is open to everyone.
At the San Girolamo Library use the "Student Booking" app to reserve your study station.
UniUrb students, faculty, and staff → log in with institutional credentials.
External users → access with SPID.
Please be on time: if you are more than 30 minutes late, your booking will be automatically cancelled. If you don’t plan to use your booking, please cancel it to free the spot.
3. How do I access electronic library resources?
When you are at the University you have to be connected to the University network and authenticated with your credentials.
At home, you need to activate the library proxy.
4. Who can use basic library services?
Libraries are open to everyone for:

1. How can I get help with my thesis?
Library staff provide in-person or online support for bibliographic research.
Book an appointment through "Ask the Library" service by selecting “Thesis Assistance Desk”.
2. What text books can I consult and borrow?
Text books listed by professors in the exam programs are available for in-library consultation and short-term loans. Long-term loans are available for volumes with multiple copies.
Request them at the front desk.
Many text books are also available in electronic format. Availability is shown in the Online Catalog by applying the “Exam books” filter.
Students with visual disabilities or learning disorders can request accessible versions. See the dedicated page for more info.
3. Are there other useful tools for exams?
Yes. Dictionaries (in all libraries) and periodic tables (in the Scientific Library) are available for one day loan. Ask at the front desk.
4. How can I conduct a bibliographic search?
Use the Online Catalog: search by author, title, or publisher, locate the library, and check availability.
Staff can help you in person or through "Ask the Library" service.
5. How does remote access work?
To access digital resources from home, activate the proxy using your @stud or @staff credentials and configure your browser or macOS following the guide.
6. How do I borrow a book and renew its lending?
Register at the library.
You can borrow up to 10 books for 30 days in each library, and renew for another 30 days.
You can use "Ask the Library" to make your requests.
7. Can I reserve a book that’s currently on loan?
Yes. Reserve it at the front desk or through "Ask the Library". Once the book is returned, it will be held for you.
8. How does interlibrary loan work?
You can request books or articles not available in Urbino from other libraries in Italy or abroad through "Ask the Library".
This service is usually free for UniUrb students, unless the lending library charges a fee.
9. Support for students with disabilities
Supply and conversion of texts into digital/accessible formats is available (e.g., students with learning disorders or visual disabilities).

You can request monographs or articles not held at UniUrb through interlibrary loan, nationally or internationally.

4. How can I suggest the purchase of a book not held by the Library?
Submit your suggestion through "Ask the Library". The Library Staff will evaluate the purchase and notify you of the outcome.
5. Where and how do I deposit my PhD thesis?
Theses are deposited in the institutional repository IRIS-ORA.

UniUrb has joined transformative agreements with major publishers to allow free Open Access publishing.
