Short bio

I'm an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Piemonte Orientale (Italy) where I am a member of the Distributed Systems and Forensics Systems (DSDF) research group. 

I received the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Torino (Italy), in 2006 and the Laurea degree summa cum laude in Computer Science from the University of Piemonte Orientale, in 2002.

I have been a Visitor Researcher at the Department of Computer Science, University of California (S. Barbara) in 2005.

Since 2017, I am a member of the CINI’s Cyber Security National Laboratory.

Since 2020, I have been selected as a member of the Google Cloud Faculty Expert Group (list of experts here) and as AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador by Amazon. 

Since 2021, I am the CEO of 4Sec:  a startup company which exploits IoT devices for safety purposes in many fields like healthcare (hospitals, nursing homes,..) and workplace (construction site, ships, ...).

Research interests

• Efficient resource management techniques for large scale distributed systems (Cloud and Edge/Fog systems), with emphasis on fault-tolerant and energy-aware scheduling algorithms.

• Digital forensics and Cyber security
