GPT-3 devices are all fun and games when you need an idea of what to eat for dinner or a name for your new cat. But how do these devices impact research and authorship?
This paper is all about GPT-3, the new kid on the block when it comes to natural language processing, also known as NLP.
It can write just like a human, maybe even better (just don't tell your English teacher!). But here's the thing, it's got us wondering: can this "little" AI produce original academic texts too?
The author tried it out himself, and let's just say we're a little worried. So, we chose this paper to give academics a friendly nudge and say "Hey, maybe we should talk about this before GPT-3 starts competing for our spots in all the top journals".
