One major strength of the Big Five model of personality consists in its ability to predict a variety of life outcomes, such as employees’ performance and satisfaction, individual health, or customers’ choices.
But how reproducible are the Big Five predictions?
Here, we will illustrate the results of an ambitious project aiming to estimate the replicability of the personality-outcome literature. Overall, personality psychology presents robustness to replication attempts, although it can still benefit from the lessons derived from the so-called “replication crisis”.
