Quantum fluids of light
After reviewing the general concept of quantum fluid of light and the main landmark experiments, I will present recent theoretical and experimental advances in the direction of realizing strongly correlated fluids. A special attention will be given to propagating fluids in waveguide devices, which hold a strong promise to generate Tonks-Girardeau gases of fermionized photons, Mott insulator states, as well as quantum Hall fluids of light in the presence of synthetic magnetic fields. Applications to quantum technologies will be finally discussed.
