During the emergence of COVID-19 and the Clackamas County Complex Fires, Unite Oregon's Clackamas County Chapter was officially established in the summer of 2020. Through community organizing and political advocacy, we are working in Clackamas County to build a unified intercultural movement for justice. Unite Oregon's Clackamas County Chapter is focusing on community organizing and engagement primarily around the intersections of housing, public health, environmental, and climate justice issues. Focus groups, listening sessions, and workshops are typically conducted on a monthly basis for immigrants, refugees, and communities of color who reside in Clackamas County. Unite Oregon Clackamas County Chapter Leadership Council
Unite Oregon is launching a three-year leadership development program that will build immigrant, refugee, and Black, Indigenous, People of Color (IR-BIPOC) capacity to inform decisions across Metro's garbage and recycling system. The program will focus on empowering, educating, and activating historically marginalized communities in Clackamas County through knowledge and skill-building in the garbage and recycling sector. Past Projects
Metro South Community Engagement
Unite Oregon and Metro convened a community advisory group in Clackamas County to create community criteria lens on the future siting of a transfer station.
Clackamas County Supportive Housing Services
Unite Oregon worked alongside the Housing Authority of Clackamas County and Coalition of Communities of Color to help shape the Supportive Housing Services Local Implementation Plan.
Oregon Water Futures
Unite Oregon partnered with the University of Oregon, Willamette Partnerships, Oregon Environmental Council and others to illuminate what Water Justice means to Oregonians on the frontlines.
Climate Policy Engagement
Unite Oregon worked with the MultiCultural Collaborative and the Oregon DEQ to develop a Clackamas County Climate Justice Committee and educate members on regional climate policies.

Community Engagement Plan
Unite Oregon partnered with Community Energy Project and the Coalition of Communities of Color to inform PGE and OPUC of the activities required to effectively and meaningfully engage immigrants, refugees, and communities of color around the rapid changes in the electric system and growing demand for distributed energy technologies.
