I can perform the basic note values of whole notes/rests, half notes/rests, quarter notes/rests, pairs of eighth notes, and sets of four sixteenth notes.

Students in fifth grade will be exposed to the following musical vocabulary during their music classes this year:
soprano, alto, tenor, bass, 1st ending, 2nd ending, staccato, legato
Fifth Grade Concepts and Skills taught throughout the year. These skills are introduced and not expected to be mastered in the kindergarten year unless noted:
Sing with appropriate expression and technique.
Listen to and perform a variety of AB, ABA, verse-refrain songs, question/answer patterns, and rondo.
Interpret symbols in music with proper terms.
Develop singing voice through varied song repertoire and pitch matching experiences. (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, high do)
