Rita Asquini is Associate Professor of Electronic Engineering (SSD IINF-01/A, GSD 09/IINF-01 Elettronica, ex SSD ING-INF/01, SC E/09) at Sapienza University of Rome. In 2017 she obtained the National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor in Electronic Engineering. She is currently Professor of the course Principles of Electronics and Telecommunications for the Laurea Degree in Engineering for Technological and Digital Innovation for the Built Environment (Rieti site), of the course of Applied Electronics for the Laurea Degree in Mechanical Engineering, of the course of Electronic Systems for Mechatronics for the Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, of the course of Photonic Microsystems for the Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering and the Master's Degree in Nanotechnology Engineering (Faculty of Engineering), and of the course of Optoelectronic Sensors for the Master's Degree in Atmospheric Science and Technology. Her main research interests include optoelectronic  and photonic devices and systems, sensors, Lab-on-Chip, MEMS micromanipulators, mechatronics, and microcontroller-based systems. She is author and co-author of more than 200 scientific publications, author of a university textbook and co-inventor of an international patent. From 2019 (ongoing) she is an elected member in the Academic Senate (Governance) of Sapienza.
