5. "Siete stati al concerto?"  "Magari! I biglietti erano esauriti quando ne abbiamo saputo."

6. "Sei alta come tuo padre?"  "Magari! Sono leggermente più alta di mia mamma."

7. "Eri sveglio quando sono tornati?"  "Magari! Sono rimasti bloccati nel traffico e sono arrivati alle 2." 

8. "Sai parlare il tedesco?"  "Magari! Ho provato a studiarlo da sola ma ho rinunciato dopo un po’."

9. "Vivete vicini tra di voi?"  "Magari! Ci mettiamo almeno tre quarti d’ora per incontrarci."

10. "Hai mai lavorato all’estero?"  "Magari! Deve essere un’esperienza molto appagante."

11. "Ha nevicato mentre eravate lì?"  "Magari! C’era poca neve quest’anno."

12. "Può darmi una mano?"  "Magari! Mi dispiace, ma non so niente di questa materia." 

RISPOSTE

1. What’s the weather like? Good? I wish it was! It rains every other day and it’s freezing. 

2. Did you win?  I wish we had, but at least it was close.  We’ll beat them next time.

3. Have you been to Australia?  I wish had! I’ve been meaning to go since I studied it at school.

4. Are you leaving tomorrow?  I wish we were! We can’t leave before Thursday, unfortunately.

5. Did you go to the concert?  I wish we had! The tickets were sold out by the time we found out.

6. Are you as tall as your father?  I wish I was! I’m slightly taller than my mother.

7. Were you awake when they came?  I wish I had been! They got stuck in the traffic and arrived at two.

8. Can you speak German?  I wish I could! I tried to study it on my own but I gave up after a while.

9. Do you live near each other?  I wish we did. We take at least three quarters of an hour to meet.

10. Have you ever worked abroad?  I wish I had! It must be a very rewarding experience.

11. Did it snow while you were there?  I wish it had! There wasn’t much snow this year.

12. Can you give me a hand?  I wish I could! I’m afraid I don’t know anything about this subject.
