Will
spiegazione e note: il futuro ‘Will’ (will + infinito senza ‘to’, forma negativa ‘won’t’), a differenza dei futuri ‘going to’ e ‘present continuous’, si usa per delle cose non premeditate, cioè per decisioni prese lì per lì.
N.B. dopo le seguenti parole o espressioni non ci va mai il futuro:
if = se
when = quando
until = finché non
as long as = finché
as soon as = non appena
by the time = quando finalmente
esempi (con traduzione):
a) Se non puoi venire, non ti preoccupare. Ci vado da sola.
b) “Mi puoi portare un bicchiere d’acqua?” “Certo, te lo porto subito.”
c) Tanti scienziati prevedono che tra 30 anni la temperatura media sarà più alta di oggi.
d) Prometto, non lo dico a nessuno. Non ti preoccupare.
e) “Ho dimenticato di prendere il pane.” “Sto uscendo. Lo prendo io. Quanto ti serve?”
a) If you can’t come, don’t worry. I’ll go by myself.
b) “Can you bring me a glass of water?” “Of course, I’ll bring you one right away.”
c) A lot of scientists forecast that in 30 years the average temperature will be higher than today.
d) I promise, I won’t tell anyone. Don’t worry.
e) “I forgot to get the bread”. “I’m going out. I’ll get it. How much do you need?”
