Francesca Zampagni is a freelance researcher, currently working as Research Facilitator for EU projects in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Pisa. She holds a PhD in Political Science with a thesis on the Schengen Visa Policy and implementation at Consulates. She has been a visiting scholar at the Sussex Center for Migration Research (Brighton, UK). She has worked at the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Vienna (2013-15) on EU projects on smuggling, trafficking, and biometric data in the field of migration and asylum. In 2017, Francesca has been a Post-doc research fellow at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, working on a EU-funded project on the firearms’ market and terrorists’ access in Europe.
