Welcome to the Union Middle School Music Department! At Union Middle School I teach five sections of band: Band 6 - Beginning Band and Band I Intermediate Band (for sixth graders), Concert Band for 7th and 8th grade, Jazz Band for 7th and 8th grade, and Symphonic Band (which is a performance group that is for 7th and 8th grade, by audition only). I am assisted by Rita Jaworski, the department's wonderful music aid/librarian!

Background
I grew up in Santa Clara, San Jose, Campbell and Los Gatos and attended Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music. I also graduated from San Jose State University with my teaching credential in music, and Scranton University with a Master of Science in Education Administration. Prior to working at Union, I worked as Assistant Director at Leigh High School, as a private brass instructor for Saratoga Music, HR coordinator at Cisco Systems, and Band Director at Leland High School. I currently live in San Jose with my wife, and kids. I am a former collegiate wrestler, and former member of Silicon Valley Judo's Competitive Team, and former UMS wrestling coach. I like playing music, playing chess, watching Marvel Movies (and movies in general), playing judo, playing air soft with my son, attending my oldest child's concerts who graduated from Leigh and will now be a freshman at CSULB majoring in music, and bike riding. I enjoy watching all sports. I'm a big SF Forty-Niner, San Francisco Giants, and San Jose Giants fan.
