Ms. Basinger's 5th Grade Class

My name is Jenna Basinger and I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at Lietz School! Union School District is my alma mater and I feel lucky to be back here . I taught third grade and one year of a 3rd/4th grade combination class at the Catholic Academy of Sunnyvale for three years. Before that, I was a substitute teacher and teacher assistant at Hillbrook School in Los Gatos for seven years. I received my bachelors degree from San Jose State University in Early Childhood and Adolescent Development. I graduated from CSU Monterey Bay with my multiple subject teaching credential. I received my Masters Degree in teaching with an emphasis in reading through National University. I am also a reading specialist. I am very excited to be part of the #Merit 17 Cohort at the Krause Center of Innovation at Foothill College. I am learning how best to incorporate technology into my lessons to help reach all of my learners using the SAMR model. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, my fiance, and our two cats, Khaleesi and Sheldon. I love the ocean and try to incorporate some of my experiences into the classroom. I am also a rescue certified scuba diver.
