Thank you all so much for the wonderful and thoughtful gifts last week! I love the flowers, the chocolates, the many notes, my wonderful lunch, and my beautiful door! You have made me feel very appreciated. I hope you all know how much I appreciate you, too! Your kids are so wonderful because of all the parenting you do!
Special thanks to my room parent, Susan Timpano, who makes sure everything always comes together; including Teacher Appreciation Week!
student council elections
Speeches and elections are this Monday, May 21st. There are over 60 students running for 15 positions! It's wonderful to see how enthusiastic the kids are. I only wish they could all win!
I will raffle the remaining 6 crayfish on Tuesday. Please let me know if you are ok with your child bringing a crayfish pet home; some of them live for 2 or more years, so it can be quite a commitment! If your child wins a crayfish, please send a small container by Friday for transporting it home. (An old salsa or cream cheese container would work fine.) I will send care instructions home with the crayfish. Thank you!
final 2 math tests
Students will be taking their final math tests this week. On Tuesday, they will take a test on data and graphing. On Friday, they will take a test on perimeter and geometry. They will have "practice tests" for homework this week to prepare.
The Mad Scientists are coming back again this year! On Tuesday, 3rd graders will enjoy a presentation called "Energy Burst" to go along with our last science unit on energy and magnets.
Congratulations all on a job well done!
