Welcome To Band!

I am excited to welcome you into the 2023-2024 school year! This year will provide exciting challenges and learning experiences, along with concerts, and festivals. By taking band at Walnut Street, your will learn skills like collaboration, innovation, problem solving, commitment, and self-expression.

4th and 5th Grade band meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:30am starting Tuesday October 3rd 2023.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Winter Concert - Tuesday December 19th 2023, 7:00PM

Spring Concert - Thursday May 9th 2024, 6:30PM

5th Grade Graduation - Tuesday June 18th, 2024

About the Teacher

Welcome all Walnut Street Students and families! My name is Ms. Rodriguez and I am the proud band teacher for 3rd-5th grade students at Walnut Street School! I have been working for the district for five years, and have been teaching for seven. I am a proud graduate of the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, where I studied trombone music education and performance. I am also an avid board game enthusiast and mother of my dog, Daphne, and cat, Graham. I look forward to working with you all this year!
