LHCb Masterclass

In partnership with INFN, every year we host at the University of Milano Bicocca the LHCb's International Masterclass. The Masterclass is an initiative of the International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG) in collaboration with CERN to allow high-school students to familiarise with the quarks and leptons world by using the real data recorded by the LHCb experiment.

Visits to LHCb

In partnership with INFN, we organise visits to the CERN laboratories for the students of the second and third year of Physics at the University of Milano Bicocca. During these events the students have the opportunity to visit the LHCb experiment. These visits involve the control room, the exhibition area on LHCb and the physics it deals with and, when possible, the experimental hall underground. During these visits we discuss the research targets of LHCb, how elementary particles are detected, the collection and the analysis of data, and how a large international collaboration works.

This website developed by our UK colleagues in LHCb gives a description of antimatter and its importance. Among the various sections there is also one on the LHCb experiment and our physics program.Â
