Researcher and academic administrator with a solid career in the field of Health Sciences. She currently serves as Pro-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies at the University of Marília (Unimar), in addition to working as a professor and advisor in Master’s and Doctoral programs.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Human Physiology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and completed postdoctoral training in the United States (USUHS). As a CNPq Productivity Fellow, she leads pioneering research on leukocyte metabolism (neutrophils and lymphocytes), investigating how physical exercise and nutrients such as glutamine modulate immune function and cell death under conditions of stress and aging.
In the editorial field, she stands out as the author of the book Exercise Physiology (Guanabara Koogan), widely used in the education of health professionals in Brazil. Her international recognition is reflected in the high number of citations of her work and her ongoing collaboration with research centers abroad.
