Dr. Katia Sloan is a nephrologist with over two decades of experience dedicated to the care of patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, metabolic disorders, and dialysis therapy. She earned her medical degree from the Federal University of Maranhão and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the prestigious Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo (USP), one of the largest healthcare institutions in Latin America.
She currently practices at the Texas Institute for Kidney and Endocrine Disorders in Lufkin, Texas (USA), where she focuses on personalized treatment plans and therapeutic education for patients undergoing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and pre- and post-kidney transplant care. She is known for her patient-centered, humanistic approach and for emphasizing treatment adherence as a central strategy to improve quality of life.
