Introduction

National Education Policy, 2020 focuses on regional language content in teaching and on the use of technology. This underscores the urgency of content-creation in Konkani and the relevance of devising strategies for its accuracy and assessment. Technology can be integrated with education through creation of quality e-content for teachers and need-based corpora for learners. This is of direct interest in the context of Natural Language Processing (NLP)in Konkani, and the creation of Terminologies emerge as the building blocks for manual and Machine Translation (MT).

Anchored in linguistics, NLP is amenable to lexical/morphological suggestions and grammatical solutions to emerge syntactically and semantically into a more error-free and dis-ambiguous (and so more reliable) process.

Aim

This Tutorial attempts to offer some insights in the context of Terminology-creation vis-à-vis natural language processing in the context of Konkani.
