Since March 2020, I am a research fellow (RTD-A) in Numerical Analysis (MAT/08) at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Florence, Italy. I am also a member of the following societies:
INdAM GNCS group - Gruppo Nazionale per il Calcolo Scientifico
UMI-MIVA group - Matematica delle Immagini, della Visione e delle loro Applicazioni
OASIS group - Optimization Algorithms and Software for Inverse Problems
I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2017 at the University of Ferrara, Italy, with a dissertation entitled "Variable metric line-search based methods for nonconvex optimization". After that, I was a postdoc student at the University of Ferrara (2017-2019), and a postdoc student at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2019-2020).
My research focuses on the design and analysis of continuous optimization algorithms for large-scale applications arising in image restoration and machine learning. Several of my works employ concepts and tools coming from variational analysis, convex analysis, and probability theory.
