My name is Daniele Tarchi, and I am an Associate Professor of Telecommunications at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Florence.

My research focuses on both terrestrial and satellite networks, with particular emphasis on:​

• Edge Computing and Edge-to-Cloud Continuum Techniques

• Intelligence at the Edge Techniques

• Distributed Machine Learning Techniques

• Energy and Latency aware Computation Offloading Solutions

• Joint Computing and Communication Solutions

I am actively involved in national and international research projects, collaborating with various European research institutes. My work pays special attention to Smart City scenarios, Integrated Terrestrial and Non-Terrestrial Networks, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Multimedia services.​

I have authored over 170 publications, including 71 articles in international journals. I serve on the Editorial Boards of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IET Communications, and IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society. Additionally, I have held roles such as symposium co-chair at IEEE WCNC 2011, IEEE Globecom 2014 and 2018, and IEEE ICC 2020, as well as workshop co-chair at IEEE ICC 2015 and IEEE Globecom 2024. I have been a Senior Member of IEEE since February 2012.​
