I am Alberto Privitera, a material scientist passionate about spins and light!

Currently, I am a Global Marie Curie Fellow, delocalized between the Northwestern University (US) and the University of Florence (Italy). In parallel, I hold a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTT) position in Material Science at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Florence.

My main research interest is the photophysics of spin processes in organic molecules and materials. I combine EPR and optical spectroscopies to address a variety of open challenges, including solar energy conversion in organic photovoltaics and the comprehension of the subtle connection between spin, chirality, and light for quantum information science.

In my free time, I enjoy climbing, mountaineering, and playing jazz drums and percussions.
