Implications of climate change on the Northern Arc logistics system.
The expansion of the agricultural frontier in the Northern Arc is associated with socio-environmental externalities, particularly under the influence of climate change. The region's strategic location—close to export ports and with access to more sustainable intermodal routes—gives it a central role in agribusiness logistics. In the case of soybeans, factors such as investments in infrastructure and technology influence their spatial distribution. Given this context, this research project aims to evaluate whether soybean expansion in agricultural frontier regions impacts logistical efficiency under different climate scenarios.
