Our research group is devoted to the application of statistical mechanics, molecular simulation, and non-equilibrium thermodynamics to different industrial problems involving complex fluids. The main areas of interest are: confined fluids, gas hydrates, electrolytes, and biomolecules. We are particularly interested in applying these tools in a multiscale framework from quantum calculations to process simulation for diverse problems: carbon capture and sequestration, flow assurance, energy devices, and biosystems.
Our lab, based on the School of Chemical Engineering of the University of Campinas in Brazil, has several workstations and a high-performance computer cluster.
