Prof. Leandro R. Ximenes holds a joint Ph.D. degree from the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis (UNSA), France, with the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Brazil, in the field of tensor signal processing for cooperative communication. During this period (2011-2015), he had a doctoral contract with the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MESR). He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and a mater's degree in electrical engineering from UFC, where he conducted research on modeling bidirectional channels and antennas using tensor decompositions and series of spherical harmonics. He was a visiting researcher at Sony-Ericsson in Lund, Sweden, in 2010, and he has worked in several research groups in recent years, including LPDS-UFSC (scientific initiation, 2005-2008), GTEL-UFC (2009-2011, Master's degree, 2015, post-doctorate), and I3S/CNRS-UNSA (2011-2015, Doctorate). He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Technology (FT), of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). His primary research interests include telecommunications signal processing, digital signal processing and multilinear algebra (tensor decompositions), visible light communications (VLC), and optical camera communications (OCC).
