Amerigo Beneduci is associate Professor of chemical physics at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies - University of Calabria (UNICAL), Italy, where he earned the Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 2002. He is the scientific coordinator of the Chemical-Physical INABEC Laboratory and of the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory (Hall Technological SILA) - UNICAL. Prof. Beneduci does research in Physical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Soft Matter and related interdisciplinary fields.

Research at the Beneduci’s group in the Chemical-Physics and Environmental Chemistry laboratories focuses on fundamental and applied research about the following main topics related to the development of advanced materials and processes for diverse applications:

1.     materials and devices for energy saving;

2.     multi-stimuli responsive materials and devices for information encryption/anticounterfeiting, electrooptics, sensors;

3.     biomasses-derived adsorbing materials for water remediation.

4.     complexation chemistry of natural occurring compounds

All the above research lines imply an eco-sustainable approach of chemistry to environmental issues of the utmost importance.
