-Welcome-

Welcome to the 2020 MVP Student Leadership Virtual Summit!

I would like to thank all the amazing presenters and the technical assistant partners at the University of Northern Iowa who helped put this virtual event together. Without your guidance and expertise this would not have been possible.

MVP student mentors and colleagues - I am extremely excited to share these instructional and informative videos with all of you. As many of you will recall our in-person MVP Summits previously held in multiple locations throughout the state provided wonderful opportunities for student mentors from different schools to gather, learn and connect with one another, as well as hear from local, state, national and international experts on topics such as leadership and communication, facilitation skills, recognizing and promoting healthy relationships, mental health, understanding and teaching the bystander approach to younger peers and more!

MVP student mentors - you are the real heroes in delivering the MVP model. Without your passion, commitment and leadership, our schools and communities would not be as safe and respectful as they are today. Thank you, mentors, for all you do to promote responsibility and pro-social action as we all work to prevent harm and abuse in our homes, schools and communities.

You are AWESOME!!!!

Video Presentations

MVP mentors - enjoy ALL the videos linked here and found on our "Presentations" page! Watch them as group, in pairs or by yourself. Take notes. Discuss and share your thoughts and reflections with one another. Teach and learn from one another. You can see that we’ve assembled an array of topics relevant to young people, as well as important issues we’re facing during these challenging times of social and racial unrest and uncertainty. Also, make sure you check out all the great resources and activities our presenters provided for you. You’ll find this incredibly helpful as you engage with your mentees throughout the year.
